Wedding Photography & Film in Lancashire

Your day, exactly as it felt

Natural wedding photography and film for couples who want to enjoy every moment without feeling as though their day has become a photoshoot.

We capture the big moments, the quiet ones and all the brilliant bits happening in between, giving you an honest record of the people, personalities and atmosphere that made the day yours.

THE MOMENTS THAT MATTER

More than a collection of beautiful pictures.

You spend months planning a wedding that passes in what feels like a few hours. When it is over, your photographs and film become how you step back into it: the nerves before the ceremony, the look across the room, the laughter during the speeches, and the people throwing themselves onto the dance floor.

That is why we do more than photograph how your wedding looked. We pay attention to how it felt.

Our approach is relaxed, observant and led by what is genuinely happening. We offer a little guidance when it helps, gather everyone for the family photographs you want, then give you space to enjoy your day. No turning every moment into a performance. No disappearing for hours to pose for the camera. Just considered, creative storytelling built around the two of you.

WHY WOLF & HAWK?

Two grandfathers. Two families.
One name.

Wolf & Hawk is not a name chosen because it sounded good on a logo. It brings together two family stories and the people who first placed photography in our lives.

Charlotte’s grandad, a Hawks, was a nature photographer who travelled the world photographing animals in the wild. Jon’s grandad, Harry Wolfenden, was a hobby photographer whose love of photography helped inspire Jon. Long before either of us photographed a wedding, both families had already given us a connection to the craft.

We could have simply named the business after ourselves, but Wolf & Hawk felt more meaningful. Weddings are about histories, relationships and two families coming together. Our name is a small reflection of that, and a reminder of why the photographs we leave behind matter so much.

PHOTO, FILM OR BOTH

Choose how you want to remember it

Some moments are held perfectly in a single photograph. Others come back through a voice, a movement or the sound of everyone laughing in the same room. Whether you choose photography, film or both, we will tell the story of your day with the same natural style and attention to detail.

Wedding
Photography

From the preparations and little details through to the ceremony, speeches and dance floor, your gallery will bring together the full story of the day. We blend into the background for the candid moments, step in with calm direction when you need us and create portraits that still feel like you.

The result is a varied, thoughtfully edited gallery filled with emotion, atmosphere and all the moments you may not have seen for yourself.

Wedding
Videography

A wedding film lets you hear the voices, relive the reactions and experience the movement and energy of the day all over again. We film unobtrusively, working around the day rather than interrupting it, before carefully shaping everything into a film that feels personal to you.

It is not about staging scenes for the sake of a camera. It is about preserving the words, gestures and fleeting moments that photographs alone cannot hold.

Photography & Film Together

When you book both, everything is captured by one team with one shared approach. Because we already know how the other works, photography and film fit naturally around each other without competing for your time or pulling your day in different directions.

You get a consistent story across both: the still images you will frame and share, alongside the voices, movement and atmosphere you will want to experience again.

“It felt like they’d known us for years, not hours.”

“We were both a bit nervous about having a camera around all day, but that disappeared within about ten minutes. It felt like they’d known us for years, not hours. Nothing felt staged, nothing felt rushed, and when the gallery landed a few weeks later it was like watching the whole day back through someone else’s memory rather than our own. Worth every penny, and then some.”

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

A few things you might be wondering

Planning a wedding comes with plenty of decisions, so we want booking your photography and film to feel straightforward. Here are some of the questions couples often ask us before getting in touch.

Yes. You can book photography, film or a combined package depending on how you would like your day captured. When you choose both, one team covers everything with a consistent approach, so your photographers and filmmakers work naturally together throughout the day.

Absolutely. Most couples tell us they do not feel naturally comfortable being photographed, so you will not be expected to arrive knowing what to do. We keep things relaxed, offer simple guidance when it is helpful, and avoid poses that feel forced or unnatural. You can also add a pre-wedding shoot if you would like a little more time to get comfortable beforehand.

Yes. Our style is natural and documentary-led, but we understand the importance of having photographs with the people closest to you. We will discuss your preferred group photographs before the wedding and organise them efficiently on the day, so you get the pictures that matter without spending a large part of the celebration standing in a line.

We cover weddings throughout Blackpool, Lytham St Annes, Preston, Lancaster, the Ribble Valley, Bolton, Burnley and the wider North West. Travel within 30 miles of Blackpool is included, and we are happy to travel further for your wedding. Any additional travel costs will always be discussed clearly before you book.

For full-day photography coverage, you can usually expect between 400 and 800 individually edited photographs. The exact number will depend on the length, size and events of your wedding, as every day unfolds differently. We focus on giving you a complete and carefully selected collection rather than including repeated or unnecessary images.

We’ll send a photography sneak peek within a few days, and your full wedding gallery is normally ready in 8 weeks. Film delivery times may vary depending on the package and length of the finished film, and we will confirm the expected timescale clearly when you enquire.

Of course. It is important that you feel comfortable with the people who will be alongside you for so much of your wedding day. We can arrange a relaxed, no-pressure conversation to hear about your plans, explain how we work, and answer any questions before you decide.

Simply send us your date, venue, and an idea of whether you are interested in photography, film, or both. We will check our availability, send you the relevant package information and arrange a chat if you would like to take the next step.

Still have a question?

Every wedding is different, so if there is something we have not covered, please get in touch. We are always happy to talk through your plans before you decide whether Wolf & Hawk is the right fit for your day.

WHY US

Here’s what you actually get

You’ll meet us before the big day, so there’s no stranger turning up with a camera on the morning. We shoot what’s really going on rather than working through a list of poses everyone’s expected to pull. Our team shoots the photos and film, so nothing looks like it was bolted together afterwards. And one proper chat beforehand sorts the details, so nothing unexpected lands on the invoice later.

  • A sneak peek lands within days of the wedding, with your full gallery ready in 8 weeks.
  • Want to feel more at ease in front of the camera first? Add a pre-wedding shoot, and by the wedding itself you’ll barely notice we’re there.
  • On the day, expect somewhere between 400 and 600 fully edited photos, covering everything from the small details to the big moments (depending on package size).

WHAT IT IS LIKE TO WORK WITH US

Relaxed on the day. Thoughtful in every detail.

The best wedding photographs and films happen when you feel comfortable enough to forget about the cameras. That begins well before the wedding itself.

We take the time to get to know you, understand what matters most and talk through how the day will run. By the time we arrive, we are not strangers trying to work everything out around you. We know the plans, the important people and the moments you are most looking forward to.

Before the wedding

We will arrange a proper conversation about your plans, timings and priorities, giving you space to ask questions and tell us about anything especially meaningful. If you would like a little practice in front of the camera, a pre-wedding shoot can also help you settle in and see how naturally we work.

On the day

We are calm, prepared and never interested in taking over. We will help when direction is useful, keep group photographs efficient and spend the rest of the time watching for the real moments unfolding around us. You can focus on getting married and celebrating with your people; we will make sure the story is being preserved.

After the wedding

Every photograph and piece of film is carefully selected and edited to create a coherent, lasting record of the day. You will receive an early glimpse while the excitement is still fresh, followed by your completed collection once it has been given the time and care it deserves.

REAL WEDDINGS

Stories that could only belong to them

Every wedding has its own rhythm. The venue may set the scene, but it is the people, relationships and unexpected moments that give the day its character. Take a look through some of the celebrations we have photographed and filmed, from the quiet anticipation of the morning to the joyful chaos of the evening.

Leonie, W.

Blackpool, Lancashire

“We used Jon as our wedding photographer, and I can honestly say I don’t think he could have done a better job. He captured our day perfectly, not missing a thing. He was worth every penny, and we have the best photos of our day we will treasure forever. Cannot thank you enough Jon, your work is amazing.”

Will and Laura

Singleton, Lancashire

“Jon and Charlotte were outstanding photographers, they made our day run so smoothly. They were knowledgeable and well organised, and the preview photos we have received are extremely high-quality. We cannot wait to see the rest! Thank you again.”

Sharon, D

Gretna green, Dumfries & Galloway

“We had Jon do the wedding photos recently. We got hitched on the 7th up in Gretna. It rained all day, but Jon had already looked around for places that would be sheltered and still capture the moment shots. His communication was spot on. He was very flexible with ideas and structure to the day. He popped between rooms whilst everyone was getting ready. He wasn’t in the way at all and came up with some great poses.”

WHERE WE WORK

Lancashire is home, but your plans can take us further

We photograph and film weddings across Blackpool, Lytham St Annes, Preston, Lancaster, the Ribble Valley, Bolton, Burnley and the wider North West. Travel within 30 miles of Blackpool is included in our packages, and we are always happy to discuss weddings further afield.

Whether you are celebrating in a country house, a town-centre hotel, a converted barn or somewhere completely personal to you, the place matters because it is part of your story. Wherever you have chosen, we will take the time to understand the setting, the schedule and how to make the most of it without allowing the photography to take over.

BEHIND THE CAMERAS

We are Jon and Charlotte

Wolf & Hawk brings together our different strengths, our shared love of visual storytelling and two family histories rooted in photography.

We know that inviting photographers and videographers into a wedding means trusting them with more than a schedule. We are there for the nerves, the emotions, the family dynamics and the moments you did not plan. That is something we never take lightly.

Our aim is simple: to make the experience easy, help you feel completely at ease and create photographs and films that still feel like your wedding years from now, rather than somebody else’s idea of how it should have looked.
